La Bombard Family

The La Bombard family and I met on a sunny day in October.  Although it was cold outside, they were in good spirits and ready for pictures.  My favorite moment was capturing the bond between Nuggie (Mother) and her sweet baby girl.  In some cases they were not aware that I was taking pictures

Darnell and Co. Gospel Group

Back in October, I met Darnell & Company at the National Harbor in Maryland.  Our goal was to take photos for their upcoming gospel album.  The group was energetic and fun.  Our photo session began indoors to utilize some unique colors and furniture.  Everything worked out great.  The group was able to dress sharp and stay away from the inclement weather.  Eventually, the rain stopped and they were able to change into casual attire and move outside to capture their personalities.

Karen’s Baby Shower

I had the pleasure of photographing my friend Karen Brigden’s baby shower in Lansdowne, VA.  The happy and loving mom and dad to be-Karen and Grant are expecting their first baby girl name “Olivia” this November.  I look forward to photographing their baby girl when she enters the world

Portrait Session with Ericka

A few weeks ago, Ericka and I met in Old Town Alexandria, VA for a portrait session.  Ericka wanted some fun, contemporary portraits as a birthday gift to herself.  Our session was done in the morning, which provided great lighting.   We discussed her interests and desired poses, but she left the style decisions up to me.  Ericka was great to work with and easy to pose – she is very comfortable in front of the camera, as you can by the pictures.   The session lasted nearly an hour and both of us enjoyed each other’s company.  I look forward to working with her again.

Welcome to my first blog entry at S.Engles Photography (formly known as Sohee Kim Photography).  I finally launched my photography website:  www.SEnglesPhotography.com a few months ago and now I am devoting some time to my blog .  I hope to use this forum to share some of my photography work and stories on a frequent basis.
